Conclusion
In conclusion, it is important to understand that although E. coli is a beneficial commensal
bacterium, it is also possible for E. coli strains to have the potential to cause infections due to
the presence of genetically distinct virulence factors. Unlike other microorganisms, the
infections caused by E. coli may not be serious enough. Yet even in children, especially in
developing nations, it’s a major source of UTIs and bloodstream infections. More research into
innovative treatments and vaccines is needed to fight against drug resistance and reduce the
significant global disease burden caused by E. coli.
